August – Personal Freedom & Conscious Living
Theme: Breaking Old Agreements & Reclaiming Your Power
Book of the Month
The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz
A powerful spiritual and personal-development guide rooted in Toltec wisdom. The Four Agreements challenges us to examine the beliefs, expectations, judgments, and unconscious agreements that shape the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.
This month is about more than simply reading the four agreements—it is about living them.
The Four Agreements
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Use your words with integrity. Speak truth, avoid using your words to harm yourself or others, and recognize the power your words have to create your reality.
2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Other people's words, opinions, reactions, and behavior are often reflections of their own reality—not a definition of your worth.
3. Don't Make Assumptions
Ask questions. Communicate clearly. Stop creating stories in your mind based on what you think someone meant or what you believe might happen.
4. Always Do Your Best
Your best will change from day to day. The goal isn't perfection—it is giving what you genuinely have available in each moment.
August Reflection
This month, we are invited to ask:
What agreements did I make with myself, my family, relationships, society, or the world that are no longer serving me?
What would change if I stopped living according to expectations that were never truly mine?
Sacred Seekers Reader’s Circle – August Discussion Questions
Opening Reflection
What did this book stir in you?
Before discussing the chapters, take a moment to identify the agreement, idea, or teaching that created the strongest emotional response.
Discussion Questions
Which of the Four Agreements challenged you the most, and why?
Which agreement feels the most natural for you to practice?
What personal agreements have you made throughout your life that may no longer serve you?
How have the words of other people influenced the way you see yourself?
What does being impeccable with your word mean to you?
Have you ever realized that you were taking someone else's behavior personally when it actually had little to do with you?
What assumptions have caused unnecessary stress, conflict, or disappointment in your relationships?
How can asking questions instead of making assumptions change the way you communicate?
What does "doing your best" mean when your best looks different from one day to the next?
Where are you expecting perfection from yourself?
Which agreement could transform one of your current relationships if you practiced it consistently?
What old belief or agreement are you ready to release?
What new agreement would you like to make with yourself?
If you lived all four agreements for the next 30 days, what area of your life do you believe would change first?
Deep-Dive Question
Are you living by agreements that you consciously chose—or agreements that were handed to you by other people?

Energy Work
Personal Freedom & Agreement Release
During the gathering, invite participants to identify:
One belief they inherited
One agreement they made from fear
One assumption they repeatedly make
One relationship where they take things personally
One area where they demand perfection from themselves
Then ask:
“What are you ready to stop agreeing to?”
Participants can write their old agreement on paper and replace it with a new conscious agreement.
August Sacred Seeker Challenge
The 30-Day Four Agreements Challenge
After the August gathering, invite members to practice one agreement each week.
Week 1 – Be Impeccable With Your Word
Pay attention to:
What am I saying about myself?
Replace self-defeating language with intentional, truthful language.
Week 2 – Don't Take Anything Personally
When someone says or does something that triggers you, pause and ask:
“Does this actually belong to me?”
Week 3 – Don't Make Assumptions
Before creating a story, ask:
“What do I actually know—and what am I assuming?”
Practice asking questions and communicating clearly.
Week 4 – Always Do Your Best
At the end of each day, ask:
“Did I give what I genuinely had today?”
Not your perfect effort.
Not somebody else's best.
Your best.
August Takeaway
The goal isn't to become perfect at the Four Agreements.
The goal is to become more conscious of the agreements you are already living by—and decide which ones deserve to stay.
