In times when life feels heavy, emotions are high, or negativity seems to surround us, many people seek meaningful ways to reconnect with peace. One symbolic practice that some people find comforting is the freezer prayer—a ritual that represents asking God to quiet conflict, cool heated situations, and create space for peace.
At T’s Wicked Wonders, LLC, we believe spiritual practices should always come from a place of love, healing, and positive intention. This prayer ritual is not about wishing harm upon another person. Instead, it is a symbolic act of releasing fear, negativity, gossip, conflict, and unwanted energy into God’s hands while praying for His divine protection and guidance.
What Is a Freezer Prayer?
A freezer prayer is a symbolic spiritual practice in which a written intention is placed in water and stored in the freezer. The freezing represents asking God to stop the influence of negativity and bring calm where there has been unrest.
This practice is paired with Scripture and prayer, placing your trust in God’s wisdom rather than seeking control over others.
Supplies You’ll Need
A small piece of paper
A pen
A small freezer-safe bag or glass jar with a lid
Clean water
A Bible (or printed Psalms)
Step 1: Write Your Prayer Intention
Rather than naming a specific person, write a prayer that focuses on protection and peace.
You may write:
“All negativity, gossip, ill intentions, conflict, and harmful energy directed toward me, my family, my home, and my business are stopped, cooled, and rendered powerless. May only peace, truth, love, and God’s protection remain.”
Feel free to personalize this prayer to reflect your own circumstances while keeping your intention centered on healing and protection.
Step 2: Fold the Paper
Fold your written prayer three times toward yourself while quietly asking God to surround you with His peace.
Step 3: Place It in Water
Place the folded paper inside your freezer-safe bag or jar.
Fill it with enough water to completely cover the paper, then seal it tightly.
As you seal the container, imagine releasing your worries into God’s loving care.
Step 4: Pray the Psalms
Before placing the container into the freezer, spend a few moments reading God’s Word.
These Psalms are especially meaningful:
Psalm 91 – God’s divine protection and refuge.
Psalm 121 – The Lord watches over His people.
Psalm 23 – Peace, comfort, and guidance.
Psalm 27 – Courage in difficult times.
Psalm 140 – Protection from harmful words and malicious intentions.
Read one or all of these Psalms slowly, allowing their message to settle in your heart.
Step 5: Offer a Prayer
Pray from your heart, or use this prayer:
Heavenly Father,
You are my refuge, my strength, and my protector. I place every burden, every negative word, every fearful thought, and every harmful intention into Your hands. Let all conflict be cooled, all gossip be silenced, and every spirit of discord lose its influence over my life.
Surround me, my loved ones, my home, and my business with Your divine protection. Fill every space with Your peace, wisdom, love, and light.
I trust You to handle every situation according to Your perfect will. May my heart remain rooted in faith rather than fear.
In Your holy name, Amen.
Step 6: Place It in the Freezer
Place the sealed container toward the back of your freezer.
Each time you see it, let it serve as a reminder that you have released your worries to God and chosen peace over fear.
A Final Reflection
Remember that this ritual is not about controlling others or seeking revenge. It is a symbolic reminder to surrender anxiety, negativity, and conflict to God while inviting His protection into your life.
True spiritual strength comes from faith, prayer, forgiveness, and trusting that what is meant for you cannot be taken away.
May your home be filled with peace.
May your heart remain steady.
May God’s love surround you always.
